it was amazing

Wow! That was just ridiculously good. Outstanding!

There are dozens of reasons why the paperback release of this book hit the New York Times Bestseller List. Well earned.

Read it now. But not before bed. That just leads to weird dreams and staying up way too late to finish just one more chapter.

Highly recommend. {PG-13 material}

*I have met the author as we are both members of the SCBWI-OK/AR chapter, but my copy came from the library and I'm under no obligation to give the book a good review. It earned it!!

Hummingbird by Natalie Lloyd, Book Review, 5 Stars

it was amazing

Natalie Lloyd nails it once again with this delightful and deeply meaningful story full of magical realism. I can even roll with suspension of disbelief that a sloth (named Bon Jovi) and a llama and multiple birds live happily in a library without poop destroying the books. Magic stuff is going on!

As someone who lives with an "invisible" disability (appearing fine on the outside, so no one can tell what's going on inside), I love Olive's self-talk and acceptance of her own very visible disability and the challenges it brings to her experiences. Everybody has something that tries to interfere and stop them from getting the most out of life. What we do about it is what determines our happiness.

Yes, Olive: Our bodies may be limited, but we are not. Joy-kabooms for everyone!

Highly recommend!

WINNER Oklahoma Writers' Federation's Best Book of Fiction 2022!!

A sinister ghost. A skeptic author. A notoriously haunted hotel … inspired by true events.

Sloane Fox is a best-selling author with a big problem … inspiration. Her editor’s solution, a writing retreat at Lunar Peaks Resort and Spa in the middle of nowhere, Arkansas. Not just any hotel, but a haunted one. That little fact would be great for a horror author, but Sloane writes gritty murder mysteries set in the city, not the backwoods. As she attempts to break her writer’s block, the hotel grows restless with activity. As an evil entity sets its sights on Sloane, determined to add her soul to his collection, the spirits try to warn her. She may not believe in ghosts, but he doesn’t care.
